A Piece For Four Hands

Why?

AUTOR

It is certain that Bartók claimed here a concert in 1922. Consider the political circumstances: the first world war: we are after personal and social tragedies,  it is quite sad. At this point comes and supports a concert Bartók. Then, almost a hundred years, we are dealing with a ruined city and with hopes of restoring.  Hope has from what to feed. After all, it is certain that Bartók claimed here a concert here. It is also certain that the building of the theatre was renewed just like the place where Bartók claimed his concert. Bartók's piano can be seen here...

DIRECTOR

This play would be able to play anywhere but, but those from Satu Mare  can recognize a lot of details that make them the play homely in a renovated theater - at least for the performance lasts . It includes daily walks, walls, parks, sunset and hospitable people.

WHEN?

AUTOR

The past is dumb, a sunken piano, the play is played nowadays. I love the word play. Although each scene has a real history in the background, each character is existing, I've modeled after people living - (including the dog and the crow),  what I wrote is a game,  not a nostalgic reconstruction.

DIRECTOR

Always present. Even after five or twenty-five years. I would like this performance remain valid. There are created on the stage situations that the spectator can identify. The abandonment, betrayal... blurring of the attachment and love... struggling in vain with the indifference of the institutions... pointless experiencing of freedom - we are known all.

To whose?

AUTOR

For Satu Mare, although I never used to call Satu Mare where I grew up. I wanted to write something that I connected with him.

I had about four to five years when I became ill and had to stay home. The fact was all the more tragic as in the meantime at my grandpa picking grapes was in full swing. As consolation, my mother, who stayed home with me, organized a special grape picking: she cuts out bunch of grapes, imitates family members among the vines from makeshift wooden spoons. This was my first encounter with theater. And most wonderful! Not long ago I realized that it was so wonderful because my mother has played just for me the harvesting. With her game, she showed me the immense love.
