The Threepenny Opera at the Harag György Company

Harag György Company of The Northern Theatre Satu Mare invites the public Sunday, November 23 , 19.00, at the premiere of The Threepenny Opera written by Bertolt Brecht and staged by Babarczy László, artist emeritus, Kossuth Prize laureate.

Brecht 's play is well known to all lovers of theatrical art , but the story of Mackie the Knife is far from a simple story about love and honor because, under the guise of romance takes off his fangs mess metropolis.

In Victorian England, everything has a price, all are put on sale, even human morality: love is fleeting , friendship is false. "The food is first! Morality, then!" - says Brecht, a statement as true today as it had been the 1928. We find today many characters could fit perfectly into the pattern Threepenny Opera: beggars, prostitutes, pimps, and murderers.
The play is a true masterpiece of the universal theater, gathering sequences of opera, operetta, musical, but also a parody of their.
