Fifteen Attempts at Acting – First Performance With Hatházi András
The Harag Harag presents the following premiere on December 13, starting at 19.00 in Ács Alajos studio hall. The performance is all the more special as it was written by its developers. It is played by András Hatházi, actor laureate UNITER and Jászai awards, directed by Tom Dugdale, the young American director who, in addition to the theatrical activity, is also a writer, designer, composer, actor and Professor.
„At the end of the past season I was looking for with this project by András Hatházi whose text had already been drawn up. I felt honored that these creators of these “15 attepts "felt that the workshop from Satu Mare would be the most appropriate place for the presentation. Along the past seasons, András Hatházi was among the guests of our company, his name is linked to a workshop and mounting the high successful performance, Manka. Currently, he is working on making a charity performance in collaboration with our company. I know very few creators so courageous, constantly searching for new possibilities, and I am sure that the strength and serenity sprung from these will reach profound the public. It is a great honor for us as Tom Dugdale has accepted this collaboration, although he lives and works in the United States, he also collaborated with theatres in Romania, namely with the Hungarian Theatre of Cluj” – said Bessenyei Gedő István, he artistic director of the company.
What would happen if I didn’t go on? I don’t really want to. And I’m awfully sleepy. I don’t know, I keep yawning. I don’t think I can do it. Maybe I can just walk out, get a round of applause, and go home? I don’t feel I know anything today. I don’t know my lines, I don’t remember my movements, my voice isn’t working. I have something caught in my throat, but I can’t clear it. So let me just stay here. Why did the audience come today? Can someone tell me that? Why do people come to the theater anymore? If they knew we were like this backstage, they certainly wouldn’t come. They would pity us. They would go to the movies instead.
It is a performance of András Hatházi and Tom Dugdale about schizophrenia of the actor- every evening we are lying and tell the truth
