Hello, doctor Mengele! the Best Drama of the Year

Prize for best drama Hungarian was awarded the playwright György Spiró for Hello, doctor Mengele!, firs performed in Satu Mare by Harag György Company.

The award was presented by the Hungarian drama day (October 12), in Budapest. The performance directed by Lendvai Zoltán, guest, remain in the program of the company this season, too, next performance being scheduled for November.

The award is given based on an anonymous election. The play was read for the first time as a reading performance in 2014 at National Theatre Festival in Pecs with Hegedűs D. Géza, Kocsis Gergő, Lukáts Andor, Nagy Dániel Viktor, Takács Kati and Tóth Ildikó, directed by Lukáts Andor.

The event was followed by the premiere in Satu Mare with Rappert-Vencz Gábor, Kányádi Szilárd, Kovács Nikolett, Péter Attila Zsolt, Sándor Anna, Bessenyei István, Nagy Orbán, Rappert-Vencz Stella, Poszet Nándor and Varga Sándor.

Lénárd Sándor (1910-1972)versatile personality, having incredible skills, was a modern Renaissance. Holder of a complete European culture is a doctor, writer, musician, literary translator, poet and polyglot. During World War II he emigrated to Brazil to escape fascism. In exile published several important works including the Latin translation of the work Winnie the Pooh and won a huge sum in a television contest Bach.
In the early sixties , this priceless spiritual values thinker, he was accused, falsely, of having doctor Mengele, the doctor of the Auschwitz camp. Spiro György presents us this terrible truthful story whose characters are real people one by one.
