„This festival is truly an international theatre festival in the sense that there are invited Europe, and Eurasia theatre companies. Indeed, is an important festival of the continent which shows up the world theatre's greatest workshops and professionals. We can meet this festival performances made by directors as Michael Thalheimer, Robert Wilson, Alvis Hermanis, Eugenio Barba, Silviu Purcărete or Rimas Tuminas, Vidnyánszky Attila and Bocsárdi László.” – said at the press conference Bessenyei Gedő István, the artistic director of Harag György Company of The Northern Theatre Satu Mare.
“To get in such a medium is a a significant professional step forward for the company. Is extremely important both in terms of professionally and the city cultural prestige that the artists of The Harag György Company could participate to such a prestigious festival the world theatre's most important creative among the world theatre's most important creatives. A long journey and a conscious professional construction led to this: when we presented the Sardar Tagirovsky’s Rasputin, I knew it was a significant station we arrived on our way started six years ago, whose results are slowly starting to materialize.” – said the artistic director.
According to the play, Rasputin, listening his special prophetic abilities, tries to prevent the outbreak of the first world war. He visits the contemporary European leaders, as Nicholas II of Russia, Wilhelm II, German Emperor, Franz Joseph I of Austria, George V King of the United Kingdom, but they don't listen to Rasputin and his predictions.
„People are always attracted to the gift of prophecy, the prophet’s person. In the ancient Greek dramas one can caught the figure of the prophet. According to the then-world values science is equivalent of this profession, ability. But it's equivalent to the theatre, too. Which has a huge value in the eyes of the contemporary people. The theatre means festival and ritual for most of the citizens. This holiday gave the opportunity to connect higher forces. Our modern world is often hard questions this ”higher power”. A lot of fake people lives back to the people’s faith. It is a daily experience. We are going to fight for survive. It could not be that very different at the beginning of the 20. century, when everything was transformed, everything that the human being caught up as part of reality. The world of science and money placed the focus somewhere else.” – said Sardar Tagirovsky, the director of the performance.
